Sha Tau Kok
沙頭角
About the village
Sha Tau Kok (沙頭角) is the historic border town of the North District of Hong Kong where Lin Ma Hang sits, facing Shenzhen across the Sham Chun River. Famous for Chung Ying Street (中英街), the narrow street that straddles the Hong Kong–mainland border, and its Tin Hau temple at Yim Liu Ha. The town lay inside the Frontier Closed Area for decades; the town centre opened to day visitors in 2024.
